The winners in most categories are voted by the Adult DVD Empire staff, Adult DVD Empire in-house reviewers, select adult DVD reviewers across the Internet and select adult industry figures. The only exceptions are the Viewer's Choice Award, which can be voted by anyone who visits the Empire Awards site, and the Editor's Choice Award, which is selected by Adult DVD Empire Editorial Director Shannon Nutt.
"Digital Playground dominated the technical categories this year, proving that when it comes to a great A/V transfer or supplemental materials, they're still the best in the business," Nutt said. "It's perhaps no surprise that 'Babysitters' also won the first-ever high-definition Empire Award for Best HD DVD. Digital's history of shooting material in HD is really going to pay off in the coming months and years, now that all those titles are being released in true hi-def. They really have established an edge over the competition where HD is concerned."
Vibrantly shot and crafted specifically for the HD market, "Babysitters" features Digital Playground contract performers Jesse Jane and Shay Jordan, and includes performances by Teagan Presley, Sophia Santi, Nikki Benz, Sasha Grey, Gina Lynn and Nautica Thorn. The 2007 production was directed by Robby D and produced by Digital Playground's production team Sam and Joone.
